Jackie's Journey "Lest We Forget..."

Things to Remember as we face this new year:

The value of time.

The success of perseverance.

The pleasure of working.

The dignity of simplicity.

The worth of character.

The influence of example.

The obligation of duty.

The wisdom of economy.

The virtue of patience.

The improvement of talent.

The joy of originating.

The power of kindness.

Whether you are a mother with active little ones or a grandmother facing life more simply; maybe you are a graduate student standing on the threshold of life or a seasoned adult facing life’s issues head on;  these resolutions resonate and summon the calling to value and give thanks for where we’ve been, what we learned and where we are headed.

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions?  You know, those hopes, dreams and aspirations projected into this future year?   I am reminded of what Tozer said, “Keep your feet on the ground, but let your heart soar as high as it will.  Refuse to be average or to surrender to the chill of your spiritual environment.”

What we do on some great occasion will probably depend on what we already are; and what we are will be the result of previous years of self-discipline and a habit of making right choices that are in harmony with the will of God.  God has a plan for our lives this year.  “To know the will of God is the greatest knowledge! To do the will of God is the greatest achievement!” G.Christian Weiss

This year holds the possibilities and opportunities that will define us.  We are stewards of this life entrusted to us. “Life is a stewardship, not an ownership.  It’s a trust, not a gift.  With a gift you can do with whatever you please, but, with a trust…you must give an account!”

Let’s make this year count…
